Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Uncooked mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Uncooked is a mobile application designed to help users reduce excessive screen time and doom-scrolling by:

• Blocking access to user-selected apps
• Encouraging healthy "reset" activities (meditation, breathing exercises, physical movement, etc.)
• Providing a gamified system using virtual "Orbs" as currency
• Tracking wellness metrics, streaks, and progress

The App is provided "as is" and we make no guarantees about its effectiveness for any particular user.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Uncooked. The App does not contain mature content but is designed for adult users.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose
• Not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the App's blocking features
• Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its systems

5. App Permissions & Device Access

To function properly, Uncooked requires certain device permissions:

• iOS: Screen Time API and FamilyControls framework to block selected apps
• Android: AccessibilityService to detect and block app launches
• Camera/Photos: For snap reset activities (gratitude photos, meal logging, etc.)
• Notifications: To send reminders and streak notifications

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, but this may limit or disable the App's functionality.

6. Data & Privacy

All user data is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal information on external servers. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. No Medical or Mental Health Claims

Uncooked is a productivity and wellness tool, not a medical device or mental health treatment. The App is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or mental health condition. If you are struggling with addiction, compulsive behavior, or mental health issues, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Uncooked is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• We are not liable for any damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
• We are not responsible for any data loss, device issues, or conflicts with other apps
• We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted
• Your use of the App is at your own risk

9. Blocking Limitations

While Uncooked uses native device APIs to block apps, we cannot guarantee 100% blocking effectiveness. Determined users may find ways to bypass blocks through device settings, third-party tools, or system exploits. The App is designed as a helpful friction tool, not an impenetrable security system.

10. Virtual Currency (Orbs)

Orbs are a virtual, in-app currency with no real-world monetary value. Orbs:

• Cannot be purchased with real money
• Cannot be transferred between users
• Cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods
• May be reset or lost if you uninstall the App or clear app data

11. Changes to the App

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the App at any time
• Update these Terms at any time (we'll notify you of material changes)
• Change the App's pricing model (currently free, but this may change)

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the App if you violate these Terms.

13. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of any third parties.

14. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software) are the exclusive property of Uncooked and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
